On some of the new Audi vehicles you will notice there are no side release buttons to adjust and remove the headrests. This car audio tip will show you where to press to release the pins holding the headrests in place. This should be helpful if your installing new DVD headrests, or maybe just replacing a damage factory OEM headrest.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kMdvzGsuC-U/Ut9ocIjC-2I/AAAAAAAACyY/cja9hwyI8j4/s1600/IMG_5196.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kMdvzGsuC-U/Ut9ocIjC-2I/AAAAAAAACyY/cja9hwyI8j4/s1600/IMG_5196.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The location is the same on both front seats, you will want to press and apply pressure to the left/top side of the seat, lined up with the left headrest post you should feel the button. Once pressed it will release the retention clips and allow you to remove the headrest.</div>

I've ran into a couple posts online about accidentally locking/unlocking and remote starting your vehicle that is equipped with a Viper 5902. The Viper 5902 remote does have a button lock option in the settings. It's a very easy process to turn the button lock on, I'll walk you threw the steps in this car audio tip.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ci282d2BvaM/Ut9Wmz-iCjI/AAAAAAAACxk/l2i7ZOJNrCk/s1600/IMG_5524.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ci282d2BvaM/Ut9Wmz-iCjI/AAAAAAAACxk/l2i7ZOJNrCk/s1600/IMG_5524.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
On the right side of the remote there is a toggle/function switch. Press it in and hold it down until the setting menu is displayed. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3vtMzMQnwNU/Ut9WneHbHzI/AAAAAAAACxo/HWKJKQPVLsw/s1600/IMG_5525.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3vtMzMQnwNU/Ut9WneHbHzI/AAAAAAAACxo/HWKJKQPVLsw/s1600/IMG_5525.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The very first feature should be the button lock setting, select that by pressing the same toggle/function button in. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QyUxyi4_xFQ/Ut9WpgeS4KI/AAAAAAAACx4/Urq5JdfGU_8/s1600/IMG_5526.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QyUxyi4_xFQ/Ut9WpgeS4KI/AAAAAAAACx4/Urq5JdfGU_8/s1600/IMG_5526.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now toggle the arrow to the ON position and press select. You should then be able to back out of the settings menus, by selecting BACK. If you don't back out of the setting menu, it should just time out in 10-20 seconds if no buttons are pressed. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UB9m22UZoTw/Ut9WmyT8jrI/AAAAAAAACxs/FN6QQYrUE4s/s1600/IMG_5513.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UB9m22UZoTw/Ut9WmyT8jrI/AAAAAAAACxs/FN6QQYrUE4s/s1600/IMG_5513.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now when you hit a button this screen should display and ask you to perform the button sequence to unlock the Viper 5902 remote.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hope this helps!</div>

So I just wanted to post this quick car audio tip about, Chrysler, Dodge and Jeeps vehicles. Some of you may or may not already know, most the new Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler vehicles have a selectable cigarette power outlet. What this means is you can select whether you want your power outlets to be constantly on, or if you want them to switch on/off with the vehicles ignition.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-O_bub5UTE1M/Ut9FlT3KuRI/AAAAAAAACxI/6NGQwIBx5Xk/s1600/chrysler+dodge+jeep+cigarette+lighter+44.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Chrysler Dodge Jeep Cigarette Lighter Constant Or Switched " border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-O_bub5UTE1M/Ut9FlT3KuRI/AAAAAAAACxI/6NGQwIBx5Xk/s1600/chrysler+dodge+jeep+cigarette+lighter+44.jpg" height="320" title="Chrysler Dodge Jeep Cigarette Lighter Constant Or Switched " width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-riWbJiogDkc/Ut9Fl5SemgI/AAAAAAAACxU/Nb5Zb4ecb-E/s1600/chrysler+dodge+jeep+cigarette+lighter+111.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Chrysler Dodge Jeep Fuse Diagram" border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-riWbJiogDkc/Ut9Fl5SemgI/AAAAAAAACxU/Nb5Zb4ecb-E/s1600/chrysler+dodge+jeep+cigarette+lighter+111.jpg" height="240" title="Chrysler Dodge Jeep Fuse Diagram" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you look next to the battery in the trunk on the passenger side, you will notice a fuse box. If you take a look at the Fuse diagram, which should be located on the inside of the fuse panel cover, you will see <u style="color: red; font-weight: bold;">FUSE 12</u>. Fuse 12 is the cigarette outlet 20a fuse. This fuse can be moved to select either the constant or switched outlets.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-y93cTpQVfo4/Ut9FfGCUiTI/AAAAAAAACxE/b7_n4_UPfNg/s1600/chrysler+dodge+jeep+cigarette+lighter+22-01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Chrysler Dodge Jeep Cigarette Lighter Constant Or Switched " border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-y93cTpQVfo4/Ut9FfGCUiTI/AAAAAAAACxE/b7_n4_UPfNg/s1600/chrysler+dodge+jeep+cigarette+lighter+22-01.jpg" height="240" title="Chrysler Dodge Jeep Cigarette Lighter Constant Or Switched " width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9fmV-eF0pYY/Ut9FfBmD5jI/AAAAAAAACxA/807LDycDcsM/s1600/chrysler+dodge+jeep+cigarette+lighter+33-01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Chrysler Dodge Jeep Cigarette Lighter Constant Or Switched " border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9fmV-eF0pYY/Ut9FfBmD5jI/AAAAAAAACxA/807LDycDcsM/s1600/chrysler+dodge+jeep+cigarette+lighter+33-01.jpg" height="240" title="Chrysler Dodge Jeep Cigarette Lighter Constant Or Switched " width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This can be very useful when integrating aftermarket equipment, when tapping into the factory power outlets. Hope this helps!</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you have a Toyota Tacoma with an overhead compass and temperature display that is not working, it is most likely do to a bad soldering joint on one, or possibly both of the 510 resistors on the main circuit board. It is a relatively easy fix if you are comfortable with a soldering iron and have about 10-20 minutes. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-okKSyAinTgE/UoWv4LaObcI/AAAAAAAACcs/ZfbnHaliqSo/s1600/IMG_3946.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Fix Toyota Tacoma Overhead Temperature & Compas Display " border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-okKSyAinTgE/UoWv4LaObcI/AAAAAAAACcs/ZfbnHaliqSo/s320/IMG_3946.jpg" height="320" title="Fix Toyota Tacoma Overhead Temperature & Compas Display " width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is what the compass and temperature gauge should look like when fixed. To remove the overhead panel, drop the sunglass holder and remove the screw on the top of the panel. The front should only be held up by clips. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OKdJkb_o82w/UoWvxczLRSI/AAAAAAAACcU/A8y4ll2FAyk/s1600/IMG_3941.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Toyota Tacoma Overhead Temperature & Compass Display Does Not Work" border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OKdJkb_o82w/UoWvxczLRSI/AAAAAAAACcU/A8y4ll2FAyk/s320/IMG_3941.jpg" height="320" title="Toyota Tacoma Overhead Temperature & Compass Display Does Not Work" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once the overhead panel has been removed and disconnected, remove the three screws holding the display on to the overhead panel. The tinted black cover can then be removed by releasing the clips holding it into place. You should then see the main circuit board. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9MsMH0q2t0I/UoWvyZd7ARI/AAAAAAAACcY/cNNqrAyivcA/s1600/IMG_3943.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Toyota Tacoma Temperature & Compass Display" border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9MsMH0q2t0I/UoWvyZd7ARI/AAAAAAAACcY/cNNqrAyivcA/s320/IMG_3943.jpg" height="320" title="Toyota Tacoma Temperature & Compass Display " width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you look closely you should be able to see the two 510 resistors.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6ylTVi2GFKs/UoWv7r4HQwI/AAAAAAAACc0/ZHHxK3E6XuM/s1600/T+TEMP.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Toyota Tacoma Temperature & Compass Display Repair" border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6ylTVi2GFKs/UoWv7r4HQwI/AAAAAAAACc0/ZHHxK3E6XuM/s320/T+TEMP.jpg" height="320" title="Toyota Tacoma Temperature & Compass Display Repair" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you take a very small pic tool or needle, and apply a little pressure to the edges of the resistors you should notice they will start to lift off the circuit board. So what you want to do is re-solder these contact points. You will need to use a very small soldering tip and be careful not to use an excessive amount of solder. I've found that silver bearing "lead free" solder is a bit trickier to work with, so if you have any lead based solder laying around you may want to use it for this repair. If you have no way of getting your hands on a soldering iron and solder, you could try using a circuit writer pen.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hope this helps!</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I recently did an installation of a double din in-dash stereo into a BMW M3 (E46). The installation went very well and sounded great.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bWkJxqeVgBk/Ubf7ZwmLW1I/AAAAAAAACaI/2HQb0Sh0Y7o/s1600/IMG_3518.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Factory BMW M3 E46 Double Din Indash Stereo" border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bWkJxqeVgBk/Ubf7ZwmLW1I/AAAAAAAACaI/2HQb0Sh0Y7o/s320/IMG_3518.JPG" height="239" title="Factory BMW M3 E46 Double Din Indash Stereo" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is what the factory BMW M3 stereo looked like. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Fo0yoIKCJW0/Ubf8APK_enI/AAAAAAAACaQ/wqJNcKun2sY/s1600/IMG_3485.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="New Parrot ASTEROID Smart Multi Media Stereo BMW E46 M3" border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Fo0yoIKCJW0/Ubf8APK_enI/AAAAAAAACaQ/wqJNcKun2sY/s320/IMG_3485.JPG" height="239" title="New Parrot ASTEROID Smart Multi Media Stereo BMW E46 M3" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I went with the new Parrot ASTEROID Smart multi media stereo, I was VERY IMPRESSED!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Check out the link below for more info.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-n9wci0MYg8A/Ubf8E7vfQ_I/AAAAAAAACac/2HuSBxkVhZc/s1600/IMG_3487.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="New Parrot ASTEROID Smart Multi Media Stereo BMW E46 M3" border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-n9wci0MYg8A/Ubf8E7vfQ_I/AAAAAAAACac/2HuSBxkVhZc/s320/IMG_3487.jpg" height="320" title="New Parrot ASTEROID Smart Multi Media Stereo BMW E46 M3" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Do to the depth of this particular double din stereo, the installation will be a lot easier then installing a standar double din.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8CzLmPoYqxI/Ubf8EojqtxI/AAAAAAAACaY/18u3YKWYhLo/s1600/IMG_3490.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Behind Factory Stereo In BMW E46 M3 " border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8CzLmPoYqxI/Ubf8EojqtxI/AAAAAAAACaY/18u3YKWYhLo/s320/IMG_3490.JPG" height="239" title="Behind Factory Stereo In BMW E46 M3 " width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You will not have the depth to fit a standar double din stereo, unless you modify and cut some of the components that get in the way behind the factory stereo. That is why this Parrot stereo worked out so well.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
You will also need the <a href="http://metraonline.com/part/40-EU10" target="_blank">Metra 40-EU10</a> antenna adapter in order to use the factory antenna. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QLt8T2fog6o/UbgCUlmaTMI/AAAAAAAACbE/8Ke1K9jTy_k/s1600/Screen+Shot+2013-06-11+at+9.21.17+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="20 Foot Antenna Extension " border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QLt8T2fog6o/UbgCUlmaTMI/AAAAAAAACbE/8Ke1K9jTy_k/s320/Screen+Shot+2013-06-11+at+9.21.17+PM.png" height="236" title="20 Foot Antenna Extension " width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Along with the antenna adapter you will need a 20 foot antenna extension, <a href="http://metraonline.com/part/44-EC240" target="_blank">Metra 44-EC240</a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Another part you may want to take into consideration is a "Steering Wheel Control" interface.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JSk32OLmOs0/UbgIL194QBI/AAAAAAAACbg/UN5nDICRt2E/s1600/1111111.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JSk32OLmOs0/UbgIL194QBI/AAAAAAAACbg/UN5nDICRt2E/s320/1111111.jpg" height="320" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In the trunk of the vehicle on the driver side, under the trunk liner you should find the stereo tuner. The antenna plug will be located on the top corner, you will want to disconnect it and use the EU-10 to adapt it to a universal Motorola plug.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vcSYkzBTMjg/UbgIa7Sxt3I/AAAAAAAACbo/5bgQatsE_6s/s1600/IMG_3503.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vcSYkzBTMjg/UbgIa7Sxt3I/AAAAAAAACbo/5bgQatsE_6s/s320/IMG_3503.jpg" height="320" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
On the bottom corner you will see the reverse 70-9003 harness, disconnect it and use the 70-9003 harness to integrate into the factory amp. You will then want to extend the wires off the 70-9003 metra harness and run all the wires up behind the new stereo, including the 20ft antenna extension that you will want to connect to the (Motorola Side) of the antenna adapter. Make sure you connect your Blue/White amp turn on wire. You will want to use the (high) speaker level outputs off the back of the new Parrot stereo and connect them to the input wires you extended from the trunk. All speaker wires should be CEA color coded for easy identification. The power wires you will need to find and connect separately using a digital multi meter.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope this helps!</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you're going to be upgrading the factory stereo in a 2013 Volkswagen Passat, and replacing it with an aftermarket stereo. You will typically lose functionality of the factory 3.5 AUX input in the center consol, unless you integrate it. It's pretty easy, you will want to make sure the new aftermarket stereo have a AUX input on the rear. That way you will not see any wires running to the face of the stereo. </div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I recently installed an aftermarket stereo and amplifier into a 2003 Porsche Carrera 4S, it was a pretty easy install. If you are going to be working on one of these vehicles, this may help you out.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uhVcp431878/Ua7HCx7B3JI/AAAAAAAACXg/ffEKs-tgvFk/s1600/IMG_3392.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Porsche Carrera 4S Aftermarket Stereo Install Factory Amp Bypass" border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uhVcp431878/Ua7HCx7B3JI/AAAAAAAACXg/ffEKs-tgvFk/s320/IMG_3392.JPG" title="Porsche Carrera 4S Aftermarket Stereo Install Factory Amp Bypass" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l_kx3wu03uo/Ua7HJDZIjcI/AAAAAAAACXo/8LmI48dKY3Q/s1600/IMG_3105.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Porsche Carrera 4S Aftermarket Stereo Install Factory Amp Bypass" border="0" height="239" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l_kx3wu03uo/Ua7HJDZIjcI/AAAAAAAACXo/8LmI48dKY3Q/s320/IMG_3105.JPG" title="Porsche Carrera 4S Aftermarket Stereo Install Factory Amp Bypass" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The factory amp should be located on the driver side of the storage compartment under the hood, right next to the spare tire.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XLoJwgzafVE/Ua7HtIggVZI/AAAAAAAACXw/dLdunFYnvxI/s1600/IMG_3110.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Porsche Carrera 4S Factory Amplifier location Wiring Bypass" border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XLoJwgzafVE/Ua7HtIggVZI/AAAAAAAACXw/dLdunFYnvxI/s320/IMG_3110.jpg" title="Porsche Carrera 4S Factory Amplifier location Wiring Bypass" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once the spare tire is removed you should have easy access to the two 10m bolts that secure the metal braket holding the factory amp in place. I fully bypassed the factory amp and installed an aftermarket in its place.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VwvXMhYGaVk/Ua7NMm5eJ_I/AAAAAAAACYA/3JFB8dkW_vk/s1600/IMG_3111.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Porsche Carrera 4S Factory Amplifier location Wiring Bypass" border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VwvXMhYGaVk/Ua7NMm5eJ_I/AAAAAAAACYA/3JFB8dkW_vk/s320/IMG_3111.jpg" title="Porsche Carrera 4S Factory Amplifier location Wiring Bypass" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
At the factory amp there should be 6 pairs of speaker wires, 2 pairs going to the front dash speakers, 2 pairs going to the front door speakers, and 2 pairs going to the rear speakers. There should also be a heavier gauge pair going to the factory subs if equipped. The front dash speakers, and the front door speakers should meter 2ohms each when testing the speaker wires at the factory amp. The rear speakers should meter 4ohms each. The factory subwoofers if equipped, behind the seats will typically meter 1ohm each (single voice coil). They are normally wired in parallel, so at the factory amp the pair of wires for the subs will meter 1/2 ohm. Depending on the aftermarket amp you are installing, you may need to rewire the subs in series to bring the load up to 2ohm.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>This should be the wire colors-</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="color: red;">Front Left Dash Positive - Yellow</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Front Left Dash Negative - Yellow/Brown</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="color: red;">Front Right Dash Positive - Red</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Front Dash Right Negative - Red/Brown</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="color: red;">Front Left Door Positive - Green</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Front Left Door Negative - Brown/Green</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="color: red;">Front Right Door Positive - Purple</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Front Right Door Negative - Brown/Purple</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="color: red;">Rear Left Positive - Blue</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Rear Left Negative - Brown/Blue</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="color: red;">Rear Right Positive - Blue (Pin 13-14)</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Rear Right Negative - Brown/Blue</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once I had my speakers and subs all wired I ran power from the battery, which is only about 5 feet away. I Then grounded the amp, and ran my RCA's and amp turn on/stereo ground wires to the new stereo. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-W5kgPd0thrI/Ua7c-3Pif7I/AAAAAAAACYQ/JebmWhSwYTI/s1600/IMG_3112.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Porsche Carrera 4S Factory Amplifier location Wiring Bypass" border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-W5kgPd0thrI/Ua7c-3Pif7I/AAAAAAAACYQ/JebmWhSwYTI/s320/IMG_3112.jpg" title="Porsche Carrera 4S Factory Amplifier location Wiring Bypass" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There should be a rubber grommet on the driver side firewall, where you can run your wires through.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-k1CUjvNv778/Ua7fP1Bss5I/AAAAAAAACYg/0Nnygo4TUs8/s1600/IMG_3117.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Porsche Carrera 4S Aftermarket Stereo Install Factory Amp Bypass" border="0" height="194" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-k1CUjvNv778/Ua7fP1Bss5I/AAAAAAAACYg/0Nnygo4TUs8/s320/IMG_3117.JPG" title="Porsche Carrera 4S Aftermarket Stereo Install Factory Amp Bypass" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Behind the factory stereo you should have a 12V constant wire on the factory stereo harness. I used that and the ground I ran from the same grounding point as the new aftermarket amp, to try and eliminate the possibility of engine noise. You will however need to run switched power from the fuse panel (driver side kick), or tap into switched power directly off the vehicles ignition switch. DO NOT MISTAKE THE VSS WIRE FOR SWITCHED POWER ON THE FACTORY STEREO HARNESS.</div>

I recently installed aftermarket fog lights on a 2000 Toyota 4Runner (Third Generation). I was able to use some of the factory wiring that was already ran for optional factory fog lights.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5MBL7hVdFOE/UaWPeyKzDLI/AAAAAAAACWQ/8T87nArDoSU/s1600/IMG_3049.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="1995-2002 Toyota 4Runner Fog Light Installation Using Factory Fog Light Prewire " border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5MBL7hVdFOE/UaWPeyKzDLI/AAAAAAAACWQ/8T87nArDoSU/s320/IMG_3049.jpg" title="1995-2002 Toyota 4Runner Fog Light Installation Using Factory Fog Light Prewire " width="303" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uVCYPtA0A70/UaWPhcm1r1I/AAAAAAAACWw/2jp01uf1l5U/s1600/T4runner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Fuse Relay Wire Wiring Location For Factory Fog Lights Toyota 4Runner" border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uVCYPtA0A70/UaWPhcm1r1I/AAAAAAAACWw/2jp01uf1l5U/s320/T4runner.jpg" title="Fuse Relay Wire Wiring Location For Factory Fog Lights Toyota 4Runner" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Under the hood on the driver side, you should be able to locate the fuse/relay panel. The fog lights fuse/relay location are normally clearly marked on the top plastic cover. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fXdB4mzdcbc/UaWPgqzOXTI/AAAAAAAACWo/CAncI9YP1q8/s1600/T4Runner2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Fuse Relay Wire Wiring Location For Factory Fog Lights Toyota 4Runner" border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fXdB4mzdcbc/UaWPgqzOXTI/AAAAAAAACWo/CAncI9YP1q8/s320/T4Runner2.jpg" title="Fuse Relay Wire Wiring Location For Factory Fog Lights Toyota 4Runner" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The fog light circuit is typically fused at 15 amps. If the vehicle didn't come equipped with the factory fog lights, there will most likely be no relay in the location. If you look at the relay location you will notice five female spade connectors. The two larger spade connectors on the right side are the ones I used (A and B. One should meter constant 12V, the other should meter continuity to the pink wires on the factory fog light harnesses.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7NI2AwhOj_I/UaWPeHfDdAI/AAAAAAAACWA/uKMlf-JHgZM/s1600/IMG_3037.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Fuse Relay Wire Wiring Location For Factory Fog Lights Toyota 4Runner" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7NI2AwhOj_I/UaWPeHfDdAI/AAAAAAAACWA/uKMlf-JHgZM/s320/IMG_3037.jpg" title="Fuse Relay Wire Wiring Location For Factory Fog Lights Toyota 4Runner" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The factory fog light harnesses should be taped up behind the bumper. On each side, they are pretty easy to find.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-m2JO6xiGbhw/UaWPedy182I/AAAAAAAACWE/oVOcnfJCqcQ/s1600/IMG_3041.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Fuse Relay Wire Wiring Location For Factory Fog Lights Toyota 4Runner" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-m2JO6xiGbhw/UaWPedy182I/AAAAAAAACWE/oVOcnfJCqcQ/s320/IMG_3041.jpg" title="Fuse Relay Wire Wiring Location For Factory Fog Lights Toyota 4Runner" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
On the factory fog light harnesses you should have two wires</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>White/Black - Ground</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="color: red;">Pink - Goes up to fuse/relay panel in engine bay (Positive)</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-D6z9asCA4lU/UaWPf-IbqwI/AAAAAAAACWY/snzckXzuFKk/s1600/IMG_3054.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="1995-2002 Toyota 4Runner Fog Light Installation Using Factory Fog Light Prewire " border="0" height="239" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-D6z9asCA4lU/UaWPf-IbqwI/AAAAAAAACWY/snzckXzuFKk/s320/IMG_3054.JPG" title="1995-2002 Toyota 4Runner Fog Light Installation Using Factory Fog Light Prewire " width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you connect your aftermarket fog lights, to the wires at the factory fog light harnesses. White/Black wires should connect to ground wires coming off the aftermarket lights, Pink wires should be connected to the positive wires coming off the aftermarket lights. Now when you jump terminals A and B at the factory fog light relay location, you should be able to power up your new fog lights. The fog lights I installed required about 8 amps of current with the vehicle off.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Sgb-kIXvAa0/UaWe6yADy5I/AAAAAAAACXQ/GiONftejZiU/s1600/IMG_3060.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="1995 1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 Toyota 4Runner Fog Light Installation Using Factory Fog Light Prewire " border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Sgb-kIXvAa0/UaWe6yADy5I/AAAAAAAACXQ/GiONftejZiU/s320/IMG_3060.jpg" title="1995 1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 Toyota 4Runner Fog Light Installation Using Factory Fog Light Prewire " width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now all I did was run two wires one from terminal A and one from terminal B, though the fire wall into the vehicle and connected them to an on/off switch.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Bp18K-q93b8/UaWRlFGIJoI/AAAAAAAACXA/-_QdhG4z6ww/s1600/IMG_3061.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="1995 1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 Toyota 4Runner Fog Light Installation Using Factory Fog Light Prewire Wiring" border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Bp18K-q93b8/UaWRlFGIJoI/AAAAAAAACXA/-_QdhG4z6ww/s320/IMG_3061.jpg" title="1995 1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 Toyota 4Runner Fog Light Installation Using Factory Fog Light Prewire Wiring " width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You will always want to make sure to use a switch that is appropriately rated for this application. If I remember correctly I used a switch rated to handle 25 amps @12 Volts.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hope this helps!</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you haven't installed an aftermarket stereo into a Volvo XC90, then you may find this car audio tip helpful.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-B4puKo4CxMI/UZwpCqJg_CI/AAAAAAAACTI/iWUhm7_yOzA/s1600/IMG_2974.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Installing New Aftermarket Stereo In Volvo XC90" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-B4puKo4CxMI/UZwpCqJg_CI/AAAAAAAACTI/iWUhm7_yOzA/s320/IMG_2974.jpg" title="Installing New Aftermarket Stereo In Volvo XC90" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fBM0zSjptDM/UZwpn8BA-rI/AAAAAAAACTQ/Jspc39rzk04/s1600/IMG_2975.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Installing Aftermarket Stereo In Volvo XC90" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fBM0zSjptDM/UZwpn8BA-rI/AAAAAAAACTQ/Jspc39rzk04/s320/IMG_2975.jpg" title="Installing Aftermarket Stereo In Volvo XC90" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The stereo removal is pretty easy if you need step by step direction for removal I will post a link bellow.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://metraonline.com/files/products/INST99-9225_web.pdf" target="_blank">Metra 99-9225 Dash Kit Instructions</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Along with a dash kit, you will also need an aftermarket antenna if you want to be able to get reception with your new aftermarket stereo. I will post a link to the antenna I typically use bellow.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.crutchfield.com/p_12044UA200/Universal-Window-mount-Antenna.html?tp=3449" target="_blank">Universal Window-mount Antenna</a> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If your going to be integrating the factory steering wheel controls you will also need a SWC interface, like the one bellow.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120ASWC1/Axxess-ASWC-1.html" target="_blank">Axxess ASWC</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3CuEXhjymCo/UZwykY2DELI/AAAAAAAACTg/TybgALzBD3Q/s1600/IMG_2976.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Installing Aftermarket Stereo In Volvo XC90" border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3CuEXhjymCo/UZwykY2DELI/AAAAAAAACTg/TybgALzBD3Q/s320/IMG_2976.jpg" title="Installing Aftermarket Stereo In Volvo XC90" width="280" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Moving on, once the stereo/ac control panel is removed you will need to separate the face of the stereo from everything els. <b>Make sure the key is completely out of the ignition switch before disconnecting any wire harnesses.</b> <b>Do not place the key back into the ignition switch until you have reconnected all necessary harnesses. </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qwd-aPkHlxk/UZwyqG14LOI/AAAAAAAACTo/rn8ZVGfygbE/s1600/IMG_2981.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Installing Aftermarket Stereo In Volvo XC90" border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qwd-aPkHlxk/UZwyqG14LOI/AAAAAAAACTo/rn8ZVGfygbE/s320/IMG_2981.jpg" title="Installing Aftermarket Stereo In Volvo XC90" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The main LCD display will need to be reconnected and remain in the vehicle to allow the factory components to function properly. In order to make this possible you will first need to remove the LCD display from the stereo panel. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dM4E2NMSapU/UZwy2SvXAeI/AAAAAAAACTw/13wIdi13L0o/s1600/IMG_2982.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="How To Install Aftermarket Stereo In Volvo XC90" border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dM4E2NMSapU/UZwy2SvXAeI/AAAAAAAACTw/13wIdi13L0o/s320/IMG_2982.jpg" title="How To Install Aftermarket Stereo In Volvo XC90" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9jIIpsR_pPY/UZwy-R9DhwI/AAAAAAAACT4/yu9BtipswN0/s1600/IMG_2985.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="How To Install Aftermarket Stereo In Volvo XC90" border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9jIIpsR_pPY/UZwy-R9DhwI/AAAAAAAACT4/yu9BtipswN0/s320/IMG_2985.jpg" title="How To Install Aftermarket Stereo In Volvo XC90" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The CD changer portion of the stereo can be removed, and will no longer be used. The main LCD will need to be reconnected and set aside.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-m00BZdvk0PM/UZw5sngEXcI/AAAAAAAACUI/HNTakxdClyo/s1600/IMG_2991.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Aftermarket Stereo Installation In Volvo XC90 Power Wires" border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-m00BZdvk0PM/UZw5sngEXcI/AAAAAAAACUI/HNTakxdClyo/s320/IMG_2991.jpg" title="Aftermarket Stereo Installation In Volvo XC90 Power Wires" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is the CD changer harness. Other than the two orange fiber optics cables there should be three wires.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>12V Constant - Violet/White </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Switched 12V - Violet</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Ground - Brown</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
When I wired up the new stereo harness I tapped into the Violet/White for my 12V Constant at this harness, but I tapped into the cigarette outlet power for my Switched 12V and ground because I know the cigarette outlet is rated for more current.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qAJs4p5Z-I0/UZw9w0mDwAI/AAAAAAAACUY/tjl4cyXG5zs/s1600/IMG_2988.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Aftermarket Stereo Installation In Volvo XC90 Power Wires" border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qAJs4p5Z-I0/UZw9w0mDwAI/AAAAAAAACUY/tjl4cyXG5zs/s320/IMG_2988.jpg" title="Aftermarket Stereo Installation In Volvo XC90 Power Wires" width="253" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The wires coming off the cigarette outlet harness should be,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Switched 12V - Violet</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Ground - Black </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-x2f0yRswtJ4/UZw_Ui9V7NI/AAAAAAAACUo/Dedv011rI44/s1600/IMG_2994.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Aftermarket Stereo Installation In Volvo XC90 Factory Amp Bypass Speaker Wire Colors" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-x2f0yRswtJ4/UZw_Ui9V7NI/AAAAAAAACUo/Dedv011rI44/s320/IMG_2994.jpg" title="Aftermarket Stereo Installation In Volvo XC90 Factory Amp Bypass Speaker Wire Colors" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once you have connected your main power wires for your stereo, and any accessories like the power antenna, SWC interface, you will need to connect your speakers. The Volvo XC90 I installed this stereo in had what was called the eight speaker system. Some will come with the twelve speaker system, with an optional sub. If the vehicle your installing the new stereo in has the twelve speaker system you will need an additional amp to power the additional speakers. Otherwise some speakers will be lost including the factory sub. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The speaker wires can be found back bellow where the factory stereo/ac controls mount, in the dash.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="color: red;">Front Left Positive - Gray/Red</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Front Left Negative - Gray</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="color: red;">Front Right Positive - Gray/Red</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Front Right Negative - Gray</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="color: red;">Rear Left Positive - Gray/White</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Rear Left Negative - Gray</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="color: red;">Rear Right Positive - Gray/White</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Rear Right Negative - Gray</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As you can see you will need to meter and pop the speakers with a 1.5V battery to identify what side the speaker is on.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OVb2LtjpQQ0/UZxH-FED3gI/AAAAAAAACU4/wveckBcyISo/s1600/IMG_3007.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Aftermarket Stereo Installation In Volvo XC90 Factory Amp Bypass" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OVb2LtjpQQ0/UZxH-FED3gI/AAAAAAAACU4/wveckBcyISo/s320/IMG_3007.jpg" title="Aftermarket Stereo Installation In Volvo XC90 Factory Amp Bypass" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After locating the speaker wires you will want to cut each pair. One side will be coming from the factory amp, the other side will be going to each set of speakers. You shouldn't need to use the side that runs down towards the factory amp under the passenger seat. The other side should be the side that runs to each set of speakers, you will want to test this side with a digital multi meter. You should get a reading of around 2ohms on each pair of speaker wires. Now depending on the stereo your installing, will depend on how you will want to wire these factory speaker to your new stereo. If your new stereo doesn't support 2ohm speakers, then you may need to wire the front left and rear left speakers in series and the front right and rear right speakers in series to get the impedance up to around 4ohms. You will lose your "Fade" in the stereos settings, along with some volume and quality but should allow you to power the factory speakers off the aftermarket stereo without adding an aftermarket amp. If you are also installing new speakers then you shouldn't have to worry about the impedance of the factory speakers.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b8lRMXTOtj8/UZxUOd8Xa3I/AAAAAAAACVI/R0B6_y0gJA4/s1600/IMG_3014.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Aftermarket Stereo Install In Volvo XC90" border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b8lRMXTOtj8/UZxUOd8Xa3I/AAAAAAAACVI/R0B6_y0gJA4/s320/IMG_3014.jpg" title="Aftermarket Stereo Install In Volvo XC90" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After you have all your wiring taken care of, you will want to place and secure the main LCD nicely bellow the stereo. I normally rap it in carpet.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8H0Xde4wP8w/UZxUPdhtfOI/AAAAAAAACVQ/KuqQRS4moQo/s1600/IMG_3015.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Aftermarket Stereo Install In Volvo XC90" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8H0Xde4wP8w/UZxUPdhtfOI/AAAAAAAACVQ/KuqQRS4moQo/s320/IMG_3015.jpg" title="Aftermarket Stereo Install In Volvo XC90" width="292" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's just about it, sometimes you will have to cut out some of the plastic behind the stereo to get it to fit in just right. One other thing you may want to be aware of is the headphone controls in the back of the vehicle will be lost. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ozw1-egayjo/UZxW-9pGUWI/AAAAAAAACVg/rUq-cqeQ30s/s1600/IMG_2986.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Volvo XC90 Air Bag Light Reset Autel AutoLink AL619 Tool" border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ozw1-egayjo/UZxW-9pGUWI/AAAAAAAACVg/rUq-cqeQ30s/s320/IMG_2986.jpg" title="Volvo XC90 Air Bag Light Reset Autel AutoLink AL619 Tool" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KFgJnMCdchQ/UZxW_suBS6I/AAAAAAAACVo/F4PkVCm9_eU/s1600/IMG_2987.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Volvo XC90 Air Bag Light Reset Autel AutoLink AL619 Tool" border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KFgJnMCdchQ/UZxW_suBS6I/AAAAAAAACVo/F4PkVCm9_eU/s320/IMG_2987.jpg" title="Volvo XC90 Air Bag Light Reset Autel AutoLink AL619 Tool" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you happend to trigger the <span style="color: yellow;">AIR BAG LIGHT </span>then you will need to get that code deleted at the dealership, or if you want to do it yourself you can purchase a diagnostics tool like this. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It is the Autel AutoLink AL619</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Anyway I hope this helps!</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you are looking to use the factory upfitter switches in a Ford F-Series Super Duty Truck (F-150, F250, F350, F450, F550) then this tip may be helpful to you. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bgPc96427IY/UZvkuVa1uhI/AAAAAAAACSA/sr9Su870o6I/s1600/IMG_2337.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Ford F150 F250 F350 F450 F550 Super Duty Factory Upfitter AUX Switches " border="0" height="302" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bgPc96427IY/UZvkuVa1uhI/AAAAAAAACSA/sr9Su870o6I/s320/IMG_2337.JPG" title="Ford F150 F250 F350 F450 F550 Super Duty Factory Upfitter AUX Switches " width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The 4 factory switches are typically located on the lower passenger side of the dash, below the stereo.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They can be used to power and control additional accessories, when the vehicles ignition switch is in the on position. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t-GdfSKI5Ro/UZvkxCJQogI/AAAAAAAACSs/I-9TWlY2_bg/s1600/f250.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Ford F-Series Super Duty Factory Upfitter AUX Switch Wiring Location" border="0" height="239" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t-GdfSKI5Ro/UZvkxCJQogI/AAAAAAAACSs/I-9TWlY2_bg/s320/f250.jpg" title="Ford F-Series Super Duty Factory Upfitter AUX Switch Wiring Location" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The auxiliary upfitter switch wires aren't typically the wires you will clearly see right bellow the driver side steering column. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You can typically find the wires and the relays under the plastic cover, located on the end of the driver side dash.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LyK4cttih0c/UZvkuYro1ZI/AAAAAAAACSI/XAmVlKh0n6k/s1600/IMG_2343.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Ford Super Duty Factory Wiring And Relay Location For AUX Switches " border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LyK4cttih0c/UZvkuYro1ZI/AAAAAAAACSI/XAmVlKh0n6k/s320/IMG_2343.jpg" title="Ford Super Duty Factory Wiring And Relay Location For AUX Switches " width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once that cover is removed, you should see the black relay pack. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5wqkv3HSU6A/UZvkuSBTTKI/AAAAAAAACSE/vtFD9NFiNZ4/s1600/IMG_2344.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Ford F-Series Truck Factory Wiring And Relay Location For AUX Switches " border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5wqkv3HSU6A/UZvkuSBTTKI/AAAAAAAACSE/vtFD9NFiNZ4/s320/IMG_2344.jpg" title="Ford F-Series Truck Factory Wiring And Relay Location For AUX Switches " width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You can remove the black cover to reveal the 4 auxiliary switch relays. The output wires will be located below the relay pack, coming out of factory black split loom. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
Near the output wires, you should see a white tag that identifies the aux output wire colors with the aux switch number. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>AUX 4 - Brown </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You should be able to located the fuses for the auxiliary switches in the fuse panel to identify the max current for each switch. I believe AUX 1-2 are 30 Amps, and AUX 3-4 are 10 Amps.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WbdlXH4bIW8/UZvkwX-eV_I/AAAAAAAACSk/4o5EIT8cj2Q/s1600/IMG_2349.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Wiring Location For AUX Switches Ford F-Series Truck" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WbdlXH4bIW8/UZvkwX-eV_I/AAAAAAAACSk/4o5EIT8cj2Q/s320/IMG_2349.jpg" title="Wiring Location For AUX Switches Ford F-Series Truck" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you need more room to work, you can unclip the relay pack and pull it out under the driver steering column right near the parking brake.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BtLcJxu92CE/UZvkwSWgikI/AAAAAAAACSg/1yIjBemfPTA/s1600/IMG_2351.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Wiring Location And Color For Factory AUX Switches Ford F-Series Truck" border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BtLcJxu92CE/UZvkwSWgikI/AAAAAAAACSg/1yIjBemfPTA/s320/IMG_2351.jpg" title="Wiring Location And Color For Factory AUX Switches Ford F-Series Truck" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You can also then gain access to the wiring off the back of each auxiliary relay.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hope this helps!</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I recently had the pleasure of installing an overhead LCD/DVD player in a new 2013 Mercedes Benz with a sunroof. Not to much different from any other vehicle with a sunroof, just had to really pay attention to details. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KFSndm1ZN1o/UYhwn8ckJ2I/AAAAAAAACOk/_rW7kROlrXI/s1600/IMG_2725.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mercedes Benz ML 350 Overhead DVD Player " border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KFSndm1ZN1o/UYhwn8ckJ2I/AAAAAAAACOk/_rW7kROlrXI/s320/IMG_2725.jpg" title="Mercedes Benz ML 350 Overhead DVD Player " width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fk2PUCM1QrM/UYhwif4jIsI/AAAAAAAACOQ/8qS4Jc3ggxI/s1600/IMG_2711.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mercedes Benz ML 350 Overhead DVD Player Installation Jeremy" border="0" height="296" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fk2PUCM1QrM/UYhwif4jIsI/AAAAAAAACOQ/8qS4Jc3ggxI/s320/IMG_2711.jpg" title="Mercedes Benz ML 350 Overhead DVD Player Installation Jeremy" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iVeisX5ZEbo/UYhwoZ3eGjI/AAAAAAAACOw/0-ZotVfS7oo/s1600/IMG_2723.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mercedes Benz ML350" border="0" height="239" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iVeisX5ZEbo/UYhwoZ3eGjI/AAAAAAAACOw/0-ZotVfS7oo/s320/IMG_2723.JPG" title="Mercedes Benz ML350" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UztAwNO9ACU/UYhwkRC5QZI/AAAAAAAACOY/FNT_pbH8HAE/s1600/IMG_2712.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mercedes Benz ML350 Sunroof Overhead LCD DVD Player" border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UztAwNO9ACU/UYhwkRC5QZI/AAAAAAAACOY/FNT_pbH8HAE/s320/IMG_2712.jpg" title="Mercedes Benz ML350 Sunroof Overhead LCD DVD Player" width="282" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I placed the overhead up to the headliner, to get an idea of where it would look and function the best. Once I had an idea of where I wanted it, I checked for clearance by dropping the driver side of the headliner. I then placed the metal mounting plate in the center of the chosen location, and double checked my measurements.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DXsogfmZVP8/UYhwmkshS8I/AAAAAAAACOg/YrauUBTSn1U/s1600/IMG_2714.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mercedes Benz ML350 Sunroof Overhead LCD DVD Player" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DXsogfmZVP8/UYhwmkshS8I/AAAAAAAACOg/YrauUBTSn1U/s320/IMG_2714.jpg" title="Mercedes Benz ML350 Sunroof Overhead LCD DVD Player" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once I had it centered, I traced it onto the headliner.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zYTS82s9J4k/UYh0dhDV5kI/AAAAAAAACO4/iGoJb1lSKUU/s1600/IMG_2719.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mercedes Overhead LCD DVD Player Installation" border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zYTS82s9J4k/UYh0dhDV5kI/AAAAAAAACO4/iGoJb1lSKUU/s320/IMG_2719.jpg" title="Mercedes Overhead LCD DVD Player Installation" width="292" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Time to cut the headliner, I slowly cut the piece of the headliner out with a razor.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(Always make sure the sun roof and sun shade are in the closed position!)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LGcWB0nJu8s/UYh0gr7bMwI/AAAAAAAACPA/yEw0-qi1kP8/s1600/IMG_2720.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mercedes Overhead LCD DVD Player Installation" border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LGcWB0nJu8s/UYh0gr7bMwI/AAAAAAAACPA/yEw0-qi1kP8/s320/IMG_2720.jpg" title="Mercedes Overhead LCD DVD Player Installation" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once the piece was cut and removed, I checked for proper fitment.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The back of the overhead mounting plate will be secured to the roofs re-enforcement bracket that runs across the roof of the vehicle. The front will be supported by the headliner.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tdzUEuondzA/UYh1brUMoJI/AAAAAAAACPM/4mGHZMIqsA8/s1600/IMG_2727.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mercedes Overhead LCD DVD Player Installation" border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tdzUEuondzA/UYh1brUMoJI/AAAAAAAACPM/4mGHZMIqsA8/s320/IMG_2727.jpg" title="Mercedes Overhead LCD DVD Player Installation" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I riveted a piece of ABS plastic to the front egde of the metal mounting plate. This piece of ABS will rest on the top side of the headliner so when the overhead LCD/DVD player is mounted to this plate the headliner will be sandwiched in-between.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1aKImNrul6o/UYh1xY-s7eI/AAAAAAAACPU/IMcPamsU3ME/s1600/IMG_2721.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Overhead LCD Monitor DVD Player Installation" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1aKImNrul6o/UYh1xY-s7eI/AAAAAAAACPU/IMcPamsU3ME/s320/IMG_2721.jpg" title="Overhead LCD Monitor DVD Player Installation" width="239" /></a></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Positive Dome Light Trigger - Gray/Black</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Ground - Brown</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
On the back of the center consul there should be a power outlet that is switched power. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b8USDEjdLww/UYiGjkG5DeI/AAAAAAAACQc/ic8aMqplWJM/s1600/IMG_2759.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mercedes Benz ML350 Switched Power" border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b8USDEjdLww/UYiGjkG5DeI/AAAAAAAACQc/ic8aMqplWJM/s320/IMG_2759.jpg" title="Mercedes Benz ML350 Switched Power" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's where I tapped into switched power.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2r6iunj0WHc/UYh2dwJr3LI/AAAAAAAACPc/EHBYrSXi_Nw/s1600/IMG_2730.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Overhead DVD Player Install" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2r6iunj0WHc/UYh2dwJr3LI/AAAAAAAACPc/EHBYrSXi_Nw/s320/IMG_2730.jpg" title="Overhead DVD Player Install" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used short steel rivets to secure the back side of the mounting plate to the vehicles re-enforcement braket. I had a little less then 1/4th inch to work with and using screws was just to risky. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One other thing you must be carful with is where you run your wires, I ran mine in the little channel of space I had between the headliner and the re-enforcement braket that runs across the roof. If you don't run your wires properly you will get marks/scratches on the sun shade. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aUvEfIXCwk4/UYh3UxI5XAI/AAAAAAAACQE/HGP8pDA4Ubc/s1600/IMG_2733.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Overhead DVD Player Install" border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aUvEfIXCwk4/UYh3UxI5XAI/AAAAAAAACQE/HGP8pDA4Ubc/s320/IMG_2733.jpg" title="Overhead DVD Player Install" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once I had my wires run and mounting plate secured, I mounted the overhead and tripple checked clearance. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rN74q-Z30Ps/UYh2uA4JRUI/AAAAAAAACP0/Ts9lvEonlMo/s1600/IMG_2741.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Audiovox Overhead DVD Player Mercedes Benz ML350" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rN74q-Z30Ps/UYh2uA4JRUI/AAAAAAAACP0/Ts9lvEonlMo/s320/IMG_2741.jpg" title="Audiovox Overhead DVD Player Mercedes Benz ML350" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It was a tight fit but came out perfect!</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you're going to be installing an aftermarket keyless entry/alarm system in one of these vehicles and want to tie in the power trunk pop you will need a SPDT relay.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hOWkJb1z2aE/UYCs2ZgtbRI/AAAAAAAACNM/sec9NCsE5bM/s1600/IMG_2606.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2013 Toyota Corolla Aftermarket Alarm Trunk Pop" border="0" height="250" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hOWkJb1z2aE/UYCs2ZgtbRI/AAAAAAAACNM/sec9NCsE5bM/s320/IMG_2606.JPG" title="2013 Toyota Corolla Aftermarket Alarm Trunk Pop" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-o_ypnnfhyQo/UYCtQBL3nyI/AAAAAAAACNU/IUI5ZDXWm0E/s1600/IMG_2619.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2013 Toyota Corolla Trunk Pop Wire" border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-o_ypnnfhyQo/UYCtQBL3nyI/AAAAAAAACNU/IUI5ZDXWm0E/s320/IMG_2619.jpg" title="2013 Toyota Corolla Trunk Pop Wire" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
First locate the <b>Pink trunk pop wire</b> in the driver kick, it should be in a gray 22 pin harness (pin 20) and should meter 12v when the trunk pop button is pressed on the factory keyless remote. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-edfa7T9e1wc/UYCtZTKGjHI/AAAAAAAACNc/cTZxuI9g2Kk/s1600/Corolla.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2013 Toyota Corolla Trunk Pop Wire Relay Wiring" border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-edfa7T9e1wc/UYCtZTKGjHI/AAAAAAAACNc/cTZxuI9g2Kk/s320/Corolla.jpg" title="2013 Toyota Corolla Trunk Pop Wire Relay Wiring" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You will need to cut the Pink trunk pop wire. Side A. of the pink wire should still meter 12v when the trunk pop button is pressed, and side B. shouldn't meter any voltage. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Wire a SPDT relay as follows-</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>86- Constant 12v</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>85- Negative trigger from alarm/keyless system</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>30- Side B.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>87a- Side A.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>87- Constant 12v</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hE1DUUgUEu8/UYCvVjUc91I/AAAAAAAACNs/t26Lo7kll5o/s1600/IMG_2626.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Jeremy Car Audio Tips 2013 Toyota Corolla Trunk Pop" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hE1DUUgUEu8/UYCvVjUc91I/AAAAAAAACNs/t26Lo7kll5o/s320/IMG_2626.jpg" title="Jeremy Car Audio Tips 2013 Toyota Corolla Trunk Pop" width="299" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This will allow the factory trunk pop to operate as designed, until the aftermarket system triggers the relay. Then it will send 12v just to the motor side of the Pink truck pop wire. If you don't cut the pink wire, and just put a 12v trigger to it you will create a short circuit because that wire rests at ground. Hope this helps!</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Toyota and Lexus vehicles are typically pretty easy to work on. Running cables/wires through the firewall to the rear is a pretty quick process. This is how I get my wires to the trunk.</div>

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bG38LOPYAlg/UXojHpEyW3I/AAAAAAAACLQ/tMLz9UMsmQU/s1600/IMG_2276.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Lexus IS300 Running Power Wire For Amp Through Firewall Into Car" border="0" height="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bG38LOPYAlg/UXojHpEyW3I/AAAAAAAACLQ/tMLz9UMsmQU/s320/IMG_2276.JPG" title="Lexus IS300 Running Power Wire For Amp Through Firewall Into Car" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once you locate the rubber grommet securing the factory wires through the firewall, look for an empty/hollow rubber sleeve/nipple. You can normally find one or two. You will want to cut the tip off, I normally use a pair of flush cuts. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SAAixhvKeIw/UXojLxlPX3I/AAAAAAAACLY/_DkoFzKU4eM/s1600/IMG_2277.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Lexus IS300 Running Power Wire For Amp Through Firewall Into Car" border="0" height="239" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SAAixhvKeIw/UXojLxlPX3I/AAAAAAAACLY/_DkoFzKU4eM/s320/IMG_2277.JPG" title="Lexus IS300 Running Power Wire For Amp Through Firewall Into Car" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After the tip is removed, you should be able to gain access to the interior of the vehicle through that hole.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rmX4ejxRmsc/UXokS0yU0vI/AAAAAAAACMI/pDgzWSwc22E/s1600/IMG_2295.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Lexus IS300 Running Power Wire For Amp Through Firewall Into Car" border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rmX4ejxRmsc/UXokS0yU0vI/AAAAAAAACMI/pDgzWSwc22E/s320/IMG_2295.jpg" title="Lexus IS300 Running Power Wire For Amp Through Firewall Into Car" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now that you have the main power wire inside the vehicle, you should be able to easily run the power wire along with any additional wires under the plastic side panels to the back seat of the vehicle. Remember if you're installing an amp to power your Mid's and Hi's then you will want to run the RCA's down the opposite side of the power wire to avoid any unwanted noise. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Qd9EzQTybd4/UXojfpB-s4I/AAAAAAAACLg/0exXWQLevro/s1600/IMG_2279.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Lexus IS300 Running Power Wire For Amp Through Firewall Into Car" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Qd9EzQTybd4/UXojfpB-s4I/AAAAAAAACLg/0exXWQLevro/s320/IMG_2279.jpg" title="Lexus IS300 Running Power Wire For Amp Through Firewall Into Car" width="239" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You should be able to easily fish the wires through to the other side, behind the liner in the trunk.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
If I am installing a small amp, I typically mount it on the driver side rear panel in the trunk. This vehicle already had an aftermarket stereo, so I just installed an amp/sub. Hope this helps!</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I recently had the pleasure of working on one of these vehicles. I bypassed the factory Boston Acoustics amp and installed a couple aftermarket JL Audio amps, the 300/4 and the 500/1 to be exact. It was a pretty easy install considering all the wires I needed were located in the trunk of the vehicle. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hCPt6qQwEZw/UXSNVpowGkI/AAAAAAAACIU/PjU-3frNcyI/s1600/IMG_2049.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2012 Chevy Carmaro System Factory Amp Bypass JL Audio Install" border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hCPt6qQwEZw/UXSNVpowGkI/AAAAAAAACIU/PjU-3frNcyI/s320/IMG_2049.jpg" title="2012 Chevy Carmaro System Factory Amp Bypass JL Audio Install" width="318" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AqWz1xTbn9w/UXSNUjoKtcI/AAAAAAAACIM/ltoZLXjKnr0/s1600/IMG_2050.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2012 Chevy Carmaro Battery Location" border="0" height="239" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AqWz1xTbn9w/UXSNUjoKtcI/AAAAAAAACIM/ltoZLXjKnr0/s320/IMG_2050.JPG" title="2012 Chevy Carmaro Battery Location" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The battery is located under the spare tire. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9IyEQ3ZKXvM/UXSNYrKZGdI/AAAAAAAACIc/oLUopdzIfxA/s1600/IMG_2054.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2012 Chevy Camaro Factory Amp Location" border="0" height="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9IyEQ3ZKXvM/UXSNYrKZGdI/AAAAAAAACIc/oLUopdzIfxA/s320/IMG_2054.JPG" title="2012 Chevy Camaro Factory Amp Location" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The factory amp is located in the trunk on the driver side, behind the trunk liner. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Xwgb9QIAQfk/UXSNZUeKEXI/AAAAAAAACIk/px7EyH-rpok/s1600/IMG_2055.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2012 Chevy Camaro Boston Factory Amp Bypass" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Xwgb9QIAQfk/UXSNZUeKEXI/AAAAAAAACIk/px7EyH-rpok/s320/IMG_2055.jpg" title="2012 Chevy Camaro Boston Factory Amp Bypass" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First disconnect the harnesses going to the factory amp. In the secondary wire harness, which should be the harness without the main heavy gauge power wires. You should be able to locate the factory <b>amp turn on wire, it is a white wire</b>. When testing with a meter it will have about a 30 second delay once the key is removed, until it will shut off.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Qpwh9ZZSskY/UXSVGIdVqdI/AAAAAAAACI0/ddh-JNtwYuE/s1600/IMG_2060.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2012 Chevy Camaro Boston Factory Amp Bypass" border="0" height="239" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Qpwh9ZZSskY/UXSVGIdVqdI/AAAAAAAACI0/ddh-JNtwYuE/s320/IMG_2060.jpg" title="2012 Chevy Camaro Boston Factory Amp Bypass" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I then located all my signal wires going into the factory amp.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Front Left (+ Tan )(- Dk. Green)</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Front Right (+ LT. Green/White)(- Orange/Black)</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Rear Left (+ Brown/White)(- Brown)</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Rear Right (+ DK. Blue)(- Tan)</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After I tested the wires, I cut them from the factory amp harness and tipped them with RCA's so they can be connected to the JL Audio amps.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then you must find all your speaker wires, I didn't use or connect the factory center speaker. You will have a total of six pairs of speaker wires you need to identify, because if you look at the rear factory speakers you will notice they have two pairs of wires going to each speaker. Each rear speaker is made up of a tweeter and a midrange driver and each component is independently wired to the factory amplifier. If you want to safely connect the rear tweeters like I did, you will want to use crossovers to eliminate the low frequency that could potentially damage the factory tweeters.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Front Left (+ Tan)(- Gray)</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Front Right (+ LT. Green)(- Green)</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Rear Left (+ DK. Blue/White)(- LT. Green/Black)</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Rear Right (+ DK. Green)(- LT. Blue/Black)</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Rear Left Tweeter (+ DK. Blue)(- DK.Blue/White)</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Rear Right Tweeter (+ LT. Blue)(- LT. Blue/Black) </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jtNgZkg8eiQ/UXSgRz5wdyI/AAAAAAAACJE/xP188FVi6VA/s1600/IMG_2062.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2012 Chevy Camaro Sound Sytem Used JL Audio Amps" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jtNgZkg8eiQ/UXSgRz5wdyI/AAAAAAAACJE/xP188FVi6VA/s320/IMG_2062.jpg" title="2012 Chevy Camaro Sound Sytem Used JL Audio Amps" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

If you have recently had the pleasure of removing the door panel on a newer Kia Rio with manual window handles, then I'm sure your gonna know what I'm talking out in this post.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ba16kg3UuIE/UWY_B-RjY_I/AAAAAAAACF0/E3FMM1QbgJ4/s1600/IMG_1938.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" border="0" height="239" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ba16kg3UuIE/UWY_B-RjY_I/AAAAAAAACF0/E3FMM1QbgJ4/s320/IMG_1938.JPG" title="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-brY0lAsa-OM/UWZEYj_wVTI/AAAAAAAACGU/oAfLyh_j9bA/s1600/IMG_1898.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" border="0" height="188" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-brY0lAsa-OM/UWZEYj_wVTI/AAAAAAAACGU/oAfLyh_j9bA/s320/IMG_1898.jpg" title="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What makes removing this handle so difficult is the fact the retention clip is recessed, and the handel is very tightly fit up against the door panel. It's nearly impossible to see the clip without damaging the handle or the door panel, and if you can't see the clip and can't feel the removal tool catching on anything then it becomes pretty frustrating. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--gLho8dSXC4/UWZJWknhLgI/AAAAAAAACGk/Iv2HesMdOUA/s1600/Tool.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" border="0" height="239" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--gLho8dSXC4/UWZJWknhLgI/AAAAAAAACGk/Iv2HesMdOUA/s320/Tool.jpg" title="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is how I ended up removing the handle. Take your standard window handle removal tool and slightly bend the corners up. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6NLlsP9xmf4/UWY_KYzVpCI/AAAAAAAACGA/EMMk_Kw5FEo/s1600/IMG_1910.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6NLlsP9xmf4/UWY_KYzVpCI/AAAAAAAACGA/EMMk_Kw5FEo/s320/IMG_1910.jpg" title="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Slowly insert the removal tool, with both handles facing the same direction between the door panel and the plastic friction ring. At the same time you will need to turn the plastic friction ring to get it orientated in the right position to allow you to get the removal tool seated correctly against the retention clip. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3C1NRw7nXro/UWZPCIi0syI/AAAAAAAACHE/TwthtGYDhm0/s1600/Handle.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3C1NRw7nXro/UWZPCIi0syI/AAAAAAAACHE/TwthtGYDhm0/s320/Handle.jpg" title="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is what will keep the handle removal tool from being seated correctly against the retention clip.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OjtnKd8BcL4/UWZRQxH0YTI/AAAAAAAACHU/KqeA7WLQkuY/s1600/Handle1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OjtnKd8BcL4/UWZRQxH0YTI/AAAAAAAACHU/KqeA7WLQkuY/s320/Handle1.jpg" title="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" width="239" /></a></div>
This is the position the plastic friction ring needs to be in. The only way you'll be able to tell if it's in this orientation is by feeling for the clip with the handle removal tool.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BxVUSggbQxg/UWZSnt3tdAI/AAAAAAAACHg/1_Ic-RGrI1A/s1600/IMG_1929.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" border="0" height="239" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BxVUSggbQxg/UWZSnt3tdAI/AAAAAAAACHg/1_Ic-RGrI1A/s320/IMG_1929.JPG" title="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" width="320" /></a></div>
Once it is seated correctly,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-stQTCj4dODQ/UWZTVI3La9I/AAAAAAAACHs/hJ3eUQEo_wU/s1600/IMG_1935.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" border="0" height="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-stQTCj4dODQ/UWZTVI3La9I/AAAAAAAACHs/hJ3eUQEo_wU/s320/IMG_1935.JPG" title="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" width="320" /></a></div>
Slightly turn the handle and pull off, while keeping the removal tool in place.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9EqYk7YlvGE/UWZUAIc5pfI/AAAAAAAACH0/ZakLBPo7xgc/s1600/IMG_1913.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" border="0" height="239" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9EqYk7YlvGE/UWZUAIc5pfI/AAAAAAAACH0/ZakLBPo7xgc/s320/IMG_1913.jpg" title="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nfZ8QdlxMOY/UWZUD0n0ObI/AAAAAAAACH8/JeWqYTZpWQ4/s1600/IMG_2001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" border="0" height="221" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nfZ8QdlxMOY/UWZUD0n0ObI/AAAAAAAACH8/JeWqYTZpWQ4/s320/IMG_2001.JPG" title="Kia Rio Manual Window Handle Crank Removal" width="320" /></a></div>
Now you should be able to remove a couple screws and have the panel off in no time.<br />
Hope this helps!<br />

If you haven't replaced a pair of from speakers in a Jeep Liberty with an Infinity sound system yet, then this tip may save you a little time in the future.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oY0KFCCFCaA/UWHqVwVS_kI/AAAAAAAACCs/XY4HOtBt3wE/s1600/IMG_1852.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Jeep Liberty With Infinity Sound System Front Speaker Replacement " border="0" height="86" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oY0KFCCFCaA/UWHqVwVS_kI/AAAAAAAACCs/XY4HOtBt3wE/s320/IMG_1852.JPG" title="Jeep Liberty With Infinity Sound System Front Speaker Replacement " width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6m0epvlsVeY/UWHqWDngmJI/AAAAAAAACC0/em7M_YrwTcI/s1600/IMG_1849.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Jeep Liberty With Infinity Sound System Front Speaker Replacement " border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6m0epvlsVeY/UWHqWDngmJI/AAAAAAAACC0/em7M_YrwTcI/s320/IMG_1849.jpg" title="Jeep Liberty With Infinity Sound System Front Speaker Replacement " width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
When you take off the door panels and remove the speakers, you will notice each front speaker will have a small amp attached to the bottom. Remove the amps from the speakers, they should just be mounted with a couple of screws. Disconnect the factory speaker, and extend the speaker wires, the Red wires are the positives and the Black wires are your negatives. </div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p1pH8uxZkdQ/UWHqzRBO6kI/AAAAAAAACDQ/OFoMWSYBo2s/s1600/IMG_1855.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Jeep Liberty With Infinity Sound System Front Speaker Replacement " border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p1pH8uxZkdQ/UWHqzRBO6kI/AAAAAAAACDQ/OFoMWSYBo2s/s320/IMG_1855.jpg" title="Jeep Liberty With Infinity Sound System Front Speaker Replacement " width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
Unless you are adding a whole new aftermarket sound system and plan on eliminate the Infinity system, your going to want to keep these factory amps functional. The placement of these amps in the front doors when upgrading to aftermarket speakers is VERY IMPORTANT. If you do not move these amps to the right locations they will get in the way of the windows, and most likely damage the glass. You first want to move and place the amps on the out side of the window tracks, closest to the door jams. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LhQgkzz56G0/UWIWHZFzgCI/AAAAAAAACFU/1lDMmi6VW9I/s1600/Doors8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="207" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LhQgkzz56G0/UWIWHZFzgCI/AAAAAAAACFU/1lDMmi6VW9I/s320/Doors8.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Make sure when you place the amps in the bottom corners, that the heat sink if facing the outside door skin.</div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-P39NTusxJBs/UWH3ZWGE_UI/AAAAAAAACEE/Q37QdsEKMD0/s1600/IMG_1849.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Jeep Liberty With Infinity Sound System Front Speaker Replacement " border="0" height="160" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-P39NTusxJBs/UWH3ZWGE_UI/AAAAAAAACEE/Q37QdsEKMD0/s320/IMG_1849.jpg" title="Jeep Liberty With Infinity Sound System Front Speaker Replacement " width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is what the heat sink side looks like, you don't want this side mounted up against the inside door panel. You want it facing the outside door skin inside the door panel. Otherwise, the amps will overheat. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mpUmycjYOvI/UWHq0KUKMGI/AAAAAAAACDg/ZCW7vzvWvOM/s1600/IMG_1857.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Jeep Liberty With Infinity Sound System Front Speaker Replacement " border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mpUmycjYOvI/UWHq0KUKMGI/AAAAAAAACDg/ZCW7vzvWvOM/s320/IMG_1857.jpg" title="Jeep Liberty With Infinity Sound System Front Speaker Replacement " width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The mounting holes for the amps are (1 11/16 In) apart.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-td7m1wNy8GM/UWIX8ty4GuI/AAAAAAAACFc/4w8B0qrSlYU/s1600/door9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="208" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-td7m1wNy8GM/UWIX8ty4GuI/AAAAAAAACFc/4w8B0qrSlYU/s320/door9.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
With a Unibit/StepBit drill two holes on the left door panel (1 11/16 In) apart at about a 55 degree angle in the location I have market in the pictures on the left. Make sure the amp and all the wires are not in the way on the other side before drilling. On the right door panel drill two hole (1 11/16 In) apart at about a 135 degree angle in the location I have market in the pictures on the right.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UHPKGeOjh14/UWIZCid4feI/AAAAAAAACFk/AmXu4idTYak/s1600/door10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="208" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UHPKGeOjh14/UWIZCid4feI/AAAAAAAACFk/AmXu4idTYak/s320/door10.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The amps should then mount perfectly, with the harness coming off each factory amp facing up towards the door handle. Note: you will need new longer screws to mount the amps. After the amps are mounted, connect and mount the new speakers and that should be it. Like always feel free to comment or send me an Email if you have any questions. </div>

If you're going to be adding some aftermarket accessories to a G500 Mercedes Benz, chances are you will probably need to find switched power. I recently added an aftermarket In-dash/Navigation stereo in one of these vehicle. I tapped into switched power at the fuse panel on the driver side of the dash under a plastic cover.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wIMS37u_PwU/UV-uAtPqw7I/AAAAAAAACCM/6CZ-jP8RFNk/s1600/IMG_1838.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2002 Mercedes Benz G500 Switched Power" border="0" height="239" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wIMS37u_PwU/UV-uAtPqw7I/AAAAAAAACCM/6CZ-jP8RFNk/s320/IMG_1838.JPG" title="2002 Mercedes Benz G500 Switched Power" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VlXnvOIe12g/UV-t81kLyYI/AAAAAAAACCI/dlH_DuqX1Q8/s1600/G500.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mercedes Benz G500 Switched Power Fuse Box" border="0" height="239" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VlXnvOIe12g/UV-t81kLyYI/AAAAAAAACCI/dlH_DuqX1Q8/s320/G500.jpg" title="Mercedes Benz G500 Switched Power Fuse Box" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used the empty (A) fuse terminal, designed for the rear heated seats.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Sgdm8nwGnoA/UV-uJMs-s9I/AAAAAAAACCg/X67u1cfQ-dw/s1600/IMG_1840.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mercedes Benz G500 Switched Power Fuse Box" border="0" height="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Sgdm8nwGnoA/UV-uJMs-s9I/AAAAAAAACCg/X67u1cfQ-dw/s320/IMG_1840.jpg" title="Mercedes Benz G500 Switched Power Fuse Box" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I made my own fuse tap, with an inline fuse.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-a0FA2ExxhAc/UV-uI6rpVBI/AAAAAAAACCc/dW1FW0X_DtQ/s1600/IMG_1842.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mercedes Benz G500 Switched Power Fuse Box" border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-a0FA2ExxhAc/UV-uI6rpVBI/AAAAAAAACCc/dW1FW0X_DtQ/s320/IMG_1842.jpg" title="Mercedes Benz G500 Switched Power Fuse Box" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I connected it to the top terminal, that should be the side that meters switched power. I recommend wiring a relay if you need more than about 1-2 amps.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Most of you I'm sure already know a double din in-dash stereo will not fit into a Dodge Ram truck without some modifications. This is how I did it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_SDLiQpnqDI/UV0YHD5GjgI/AAAAAAAAB_c/9wAZZd7gn1A/s1600/IMG_1678.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><img alt="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_SDLiQpnqDI/UV0YHD5GjgI/AAAAAAAAB_c/9wAZZd7gn1A/s320/IMG_1678.JPG" title="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: right;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
The Dodge Ram 1500-2500-3500 should all have the same size stereo.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Some will come equipped with a premium Infinity sound system. I bypassed the factory Infinity amp, and I will be posting how I did it in the near future.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is how the factory stereo looks.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QcGVxTCCm6c/UV0YShYaGrI/AAAAAAAACBw/H51o0D_bg6o/s1600/Ram.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QcGVxTCCm6c/UV0YShYaGrI/AAAAAAAACBw/H51o0D_bg6o/s320/Ram.jpg" title="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" width="232" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once the factory stereo is removed, you will have to cut the top corners to allow the plastic to move up in order to fit the new aftermarket double din. There will also be two small plastic tabs in the bottom corners, cut and remove those.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NEK17tLiBII/UV0YHgzrlmI/AAAAAAAAB_k/LumWZY49Biw/s1600/IMG_1682.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NEK17tLiBII/UV0YHgzrlmI/AAAAAAAAB_k/LumWZY49Biw/s320/IMG_1682.JPG" title="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Moving on to making the double din fit. I normally use masking tape to cover and protect the face of the stereo, to avoid any scratches.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-a4rqdUHsZfU/UV0YJYxOD9I/AAAAAAAAB_w/wlJ-lPz0640/s1600/IMG_1685.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="190" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-a4rqdUHsZfU/UV0YJYxOD9I/AAAAAAAAB_w/wlJ-lPz0640/s320/IMG_1685.JPG" title="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I first mocked the new stereo up from the back, and marked the pieces I need to cut out. I just used masking tape and a small marker. With this Pioneer I filed about a half inch from the bottom and the top. But different stereos fit a little different. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YgMGjZyyICQ/UV0YKrZs3-I/AAAAAAAAB_0/dprf7R24kn0/s1600/IMG_1687.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YgMGjZyyICQ/UV0YKrZs3-I/AAAAAAAAB_0/dprf7R24kn0/s320/IMG_1687.JPG" title="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gi_1uTLzgOo/UV0YK2btoQI/AAAAAAAAB_4/dwYvLW941sA/s1600/IMG_1691.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gi_1uTLzgOo/UV0YK2btoQI/AAAAAAAAB_4/dwYvLW941sA/s320/IMG_1691.JPG" title="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I typically use a mini belt sander to get close, then I use hand files to get it perfect.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eBvWraSV4rU/UV0YNpNaSEI/AAAAAAAACAc/IpKmMPDcs-g/s1600/IMG_1701.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="267" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eBvWraSV4rU/UV0YNpNaSEI/AAAAAAAACAc/IpKmMPDcs-g/s320/IMG_1701.jpg" title="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In order to make the face sit flush behind the dash panel, you will have to cut and file some of the edges.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mro0G8Dno_I/UV0YL5ZdDmI/AAAAAAAACAQ/ekYSPbb_8ek/s1600/IMG_1698.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mro0G8Dno_I/UV0YL5ZdDmI/AAAAAAAACAQ/ekYSPbb_8ek/s320/IMG_1698.jpg" title="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After I got the stereo to fit just right, I used a black marker and covered the top and bottom edges so when the stereo mounts in and this is put back into place you will not be able to see any unfinished edges. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WV5fERZntFY/UV0YNJALgUI/AAAAAAAACAU/hny3akTTAfM/s1600/IMG_1700.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WV5fERZntFY/UV0YNJALgUI/AAAAAAAACAU/hny3akTTAfM/s320/IMG_1700.JPG" title="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OLabltPXfGk/UV0YOiPhHCI/AAAAAAAACAk/kiiDDNJJegI/s1600/IMG_1709.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OLabltPXfGk/UV0YOiPhHCI/AAAAAAAACAk/kiiDDNJJegI/s320/IMG_1709.jpg" title="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For this install I made ABS plastic inserts to fill the gaps on the sides. It is a cheaper alternative to filling and refinishing the dash panel. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7SheqP9_WTU/UV0YOr8OFWI/AAAAAAAACAo/Cyew5IKFMHc/s1600/IMG_1707.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7SheqP9_WTU/UV0YOr8OFWI/AAAAAAAACAo/Cyew5IKFMHc/s320/IMG_1707.JPG" title="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I got each piece to fit perfectly, then I filed and sanded them to have a slight curve. After that I painted them.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NNmQ8EyHHrI/UV0YPwghY6I/AAAAAAAACBE/jIs_-WEslMM/s1600/IMG_1717.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NNmQ8EyHHrI/UV0YPwghY6I/AAAAAAAACBE/jIs_-WEslMM/s320/IMG_1717.JPG" title="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now to the stereo mounting. I first put the stereo in the dash to get a good idea on how far in the stereo was going to have to sit in order for the dash panel to fit nicely. Once I had an idea, I mounted back-straps to the sides of the stereo and slid it in. I then started bending the back-straps trying to get them lined up with the mounting holes. At the same time fitting the dash panel into place to check for fitment. This part can be very tedious and time consuming, be patient. You will have to (mount, check fitment, re-adjust) probably about five time to get in just right.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IjRcVihLgBA/UV0YQUDbVlI/AAAAAAAACBI/QMM8bwv83oA/s1600/IMG_1718.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IjRcVihLgBA/UV0YQUDbVlI/AAAAAAAACBI/QMM8bwv83oA/s320/IMG_1718.JPG" title="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After I had it mounted, and fitting to my satisfaction I removed the dash panel one more time.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Uz7weKWqFyQ/UV0YRiBo6iI/AAAAAAAACBc/dWxVZ6dNS2c/s1600/IMG_1725.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Uz7weKWqFyQ/UV0YRiBo6iI/AAAAAAAACBc/dWxVZ6dNS2c/s320/IMG_1725.JPG" title="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I then glued my inserts into place, and let dry. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UGFeyAWzWL8/UV0YSMXsFoI/AAAAAAAACBg/bcmyLvXZch0/s1600/IMG_1731.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UGFeyAWzWL8/UV0YSMXsFoI/AAAAAAAACBg/bcmyLvXZch0/s320/IMG_1731.JPG" title="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once the glue cured, I mounted the dash panel and was all finished.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AVDG8O1qY38/UV0YFM5sFEI/AAAAAAAAB_I/S_wLhdR9lAQ/s1600/Dodge.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AVDG8O1qY38/UV0YFM5sFEI/AAAAAAAAB_I/S_wLhdR9lAQ/s320/Dodge.jpg" title="2002-2008 Dodge Ram Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I think it came out really nice! I left out the part where I wired the stereo, do to the complexity of the Infinity sound system in this vehicle I will be writing a future post on how to bypass the factory amp. Hope this helps - Jeremy's Car Audio Tips</div>

If you haven't had a chance to install a double din in-dash stereo into a 2003-2007 Chevy Silverado, then you may find this tip helpful. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Nz8S4Xrk3TI/UVZu_1aahpI/AAAAAAAAB9Q/My3bO-4ubWk/s1600/IMG_1610.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Chevy Silverado Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="132" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Nz8S4Xrk3TI/UVZu_1aahpI/AAAAAAAAB9Q/My3bO-4ubWk/s320/IMG_1610.JPG" title="Chevy Silverado Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you try to fit the stereo into the dash cavity as is, you will notice it will not fit correctly. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DxrTSrwJJXY/UVZvPsaWeaI/AAAAAAAAB9Y/PTrww2eXkDQ/s1600/Chevy+Truck.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Chevy Silverado Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DxrTSrwJJXY/UVZvPsaWeaI/AAAAAAAAB9Y/PTrww2eXkDQ/s320/Chevy+Truck.jpg" title="Chevy Silverado Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Due to the form of the plastic dash supports the stereo will not go far enough back to allow for proper mounting, unless you remove some of these pieces.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TgK84lzsKIQ/UVZvbbt25WI/AAAAAAAAB9g/22jHOQs8q6w/s1600/Chevy1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Chevy Silverado Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TgK84lzsKIQ/UVZvbbt25WI/AAAAAAAAB9g/22jHOQs8q6w/s320/Chevy1.jpg" title="Chevy Silverado Double Din Indash Install" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Don't worry, you won't need anything more than a pair of angled pliers. I've seen other installers use different methodes, but I think this is the easiest way.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Hz_ujr3FD8o/UVZwD1_yv6I/AAAAAAAAB9o/NvOwlIhR-kA/s1600/IMG_1614.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Chevy Silverado Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="255" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Hz_ujr3FD8o/UVZwD1_yv6I/AAAAAAAAB9o/NvOwlIhR-kA/s320/IMG_1614.jpg" title="Chevy Silverado Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I normally begin by removing the two corner pieces, the plastic is quite brittle so you won't need much force. Be carful the broken edges will be very sharp. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K16zzIjYZZQ/UVZwPTuLd6I/AAAAAAAAB9w/f4cTnRoplX0/s1600/IMG_1615.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Chevy Silverado Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K16zzIjYZZQ/UVZwPTuLd6I/AAAAAAAAB9w/f4cTnRoplX0/s320/IMG_1615.jpg" title="Chevy Silverado Double Din Indash Install" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After I remove the corner pieces, I then remove the center suport. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RbfgIbX9sZ0/UVZwqzrDR4I/AAAAAAAAB94/uQlmhUpRf9A/s1600/IMG_1616.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Chevy Silverado Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RbfgIbX9sZ0/UVZwqzrDR4I/AAAAAAAAB94/uQlmhUpRf9A/s320/IMG_1616.jpg" title="Chevy Silverado Double Din Indash Install" width="317" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LmmFgIi4Gxg/UVZw5-7E90I/AAAAAAAAB-A/o6XSGamQuHg/s1600/IMG_1620.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Chevy Silverado Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LmmFgIi4Gxg/UVZw5-7E90I/AAAAAAAAB-A/o6XSGamQuHg/s320/IMG_1620.JPG" title="Chevy Silverado Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once the removal of the interfering plastic is complete, I normally do on last thing... </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GVeCA_FSm68/UVZw6PeyEPI/AAAAAAAAB-E/-rjwLmyrH7c/s1600/IMG_1622.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Chevy Silverado Double Din Indash Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GVeCA_FSm68/UVZw6PeyEPI/AAAAAAAAB-E/-rjwLmyrH7c/s320/IMG_1622.JPG" title="Chevy Silverado Double Din Indash Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That is cover the rough edge with some duct tape, to avoid possible damage to any of the wiring and or your hand when managing any of the wiring when mounting the stereo. <br />

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As some of you may know the 2004-2008 Nissan Maxima (sixth generation) has a very brittle plastic panel that surounds the stereo. In some cases it will already have multiple hairline cracks not really visible to the naked eye, making it very difficult to remove without damaging if you don't know how to remove the panel correctly. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hnxnu-ZsMIQ/UU_hdyDAImI/AAAAAAAAB9A/yjrmrrlO9Co/s1600/IMG_1243.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Nissan Maxima Dash Removal" border="0" height="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hnxnu-ZsMIQ/UU_hdyDAImI/AAAAAAAAB9A/yjrmrrlO9Co/s320/IMG_1243.JPG" title="Nissan Maxima Dash Removal" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once you remove the cover around the A/C controls, which is just held in by clips. Remove the two screws securing the A/C controls over the bottom lower piece of the dash panel. Lightly unclip the lower panel fasteners.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ulbWRNtV62w/UU_eUjwh7SI/AAAAAAAAB8I/m6DEQ_CIZao/s1600/Maxima2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Nissan Maxima Dash Removal" border="0" height="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ulbWRNtV62w/UU_eUjwh7SI/AAAAAAAAB8I/m6DEQ_CIZao/s320/Maxima2.jpg" title="Nissan Maxima Dash Removal" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These are the panel fasteners/clips holding the lower part of the dash panel in place. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eTF0nu4BnPg/UU_eN7rioHI/AAAAAAAAB8E/cwwmZjAv-7o/s1600/Maxima.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Nissan Maxima Dash Removal For Stereo Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eTF0nu4BnPg/UU_eN7rioHI/AAAAAAAAB8E/cwwmZjAv-7o/s320/Maxima.jpg" title="Nissan Maxima Dash Removal For Stereo Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then grab two wide flat panel removal tools and slowly insert them about 4-5 inches in, center of the A/C vents on each side. Be careful not to put pressure on the thin delicate dash trim. When inserting put any pressure required on the soft dash itself . If you don't have any panel removal tools about three inches wide you can use those cheap plastic putty knifes typically found at any local hardware store. Once you have your flat panel removal tools inserted, Open the top pocket and apply pressure to the inside walls of the pocket while pulling out to fully remove the dash panel.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NE6ppISXFsI/UU_eoYTmSdI/AAAAAAAAB88/FlgU0wHdosg/s1600/IMG_1248.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Nissan Maxima Dash Removal For Stereo Install" border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NE6ppISXFsI/UU_eoYTmSdI/AAAAAAAAB88/FlgU0wHdosg/s320/IMG_1248.jpg" title="Nissan Maxima Dash Removal For Stereo Install" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J1BgPZ3eJzo/UU_em3zUtII/AAAAAAAAB8k/k2WNY-BcbZ4/s1600/IMG_1251.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Nissan Maxima Dash Removal For Stereo Install" border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J1BgPZ3eJzo/UU_em3zUtII/AAAAAAAAB8k/k2WNY-BcbZ4/s320/IMG_1251.jpg" title="Nissan Maxima Dash Removal For Stereo Install" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These are the clips on each side that will get stuck if you just try prying the dash panel out.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-elD5cZcNv10/UU_ensFLVRI/AAAAAAAAB8w/QL4ItWg0VaI/s1600/IMG_1254.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Nissan Maxima Dash Removal For Stereo Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-elD5cZcNv10/UU_ensFLVRI/AAAAAAAAB8w/QL4ItWg0VaI/s320/IMG_1254.JPG" title="Nissan Maxima Dash Removal For Stereo Install" width="320" /></a></div>
Now you should be able to get to the stereo, be careful putting the dash panel back in. Hope this help!<br />

If you're looking for switched accessory power in a 2005-2013 Sixth Generation Corvette (C6), you will probably want to go to the fuse panel. It's located on the passenger side underneath the floor carpet. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3gquH3pWvaw/UUvgJ9k22RI/AAAAAAAAB4w/DDXL-c2yEeI/s1600/IMG_1324.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mini Auto Fuse Tap" border="0" height="251" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3gquH3pWvaw/UUvgJ9k22RI/AAAAAAAAB4w/DDXL-c2yEeI/s320/IMG_1324.jpg" title="Mini Auto Fuse Tap" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you haven't seen or used these fuse taps, they work great! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tS1f1xc0-ho/UUvgnFGvd6I/AAAAAAAAB44/ONV3sffgEJM/s1600/Corvette.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Corvette Switched Accessory Power" border="0" height="258" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tS1f1xc0-ho/UUvgnFGvd6I/AAAAAAAAB44/ONV3sffgEJM/s320/Corvette.jpg" title="Corvette Switched Accessory Power" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You can tap into the "Heated Seats/Wiper" relay for accessory power. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0Wl3tlS5NoM/UUvkR2XougI/AAAAAAAAB5A/dZsrLNV1uRg/s1600/IMG_1330.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Corvette Switched Accessory Power" border="0" height="191" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0Wl3tlS5NoM/UUvkR2XougI/AAAAAAAAB5A/dZsrLNV1uRg/s320/IMG_1330.JPG" title="Corvette Switched Accessory Power" width="320" /></a></div>

If you are going to need more than a couple amps of current I recommend wiring a relay.</div>

You can normally find the Retained Accessory Power wire for the seventh generation Chevy Malibu's in the driver kick.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RsOgvDm_p6Y/UUaErltfXrI/AAAAAAAAB4Y/w9MK_AmstYc/s1600/IMG_1232.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Chevy Malibu Car Audio " border="0" height="239" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RsOgvDm_p6Y/UUaErltfXrI/AAAAAAAAB4Y/w9MK_AmstYc/s320/IMG_1232.JPG" title="Chevy Malibu Car Audio " width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QLyQzKAfb94/UUaEwilsksI/AAAAAAAAB4g/Koi3lP9I3Is/s1600/Malibu.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Chevy Malibu Car Audio " border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QLyQzKAfb94/UUaEwilsksI/AAAAAAAAB4g/Koi3lP9I3Is/s320/Malibu.jpg" title="Chevy Malibu Car Audio " width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Just remove the driver kick panel and open the loomed wires coming out of the driver door. It should be a heavier gauge wire around 14 gauge (Yellow). You can use this wire to trigger amps, stereos, sat. radios, hands free systems, relays ect...</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If your going to be installing a new aftermarket stereo in a Pontiac G6 equipped with a premium Monsoon sound system, you may find this tip helpful. The most common interface used to integrate an aftermarket stereo into this vehicles is the Scosche "GM13SR". </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S9A8ZxXeFhc/UUFrwCeenvI/AAAAAAAAB4A/_e0xYoXFuks/s1600/photo+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Pontiac G6 Car Audio" border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S9A8ZxXeFhc/UUFrwCeenvI/AAAAAAAAB4A/_e0xYoXFuks/s320/photo+2.jpg" title="Pontiac G6 Car Audio" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_zJkdBbNRAQ/UUFsHMKexlI/AAAAAAAAB4I/ChGBKAO-bFk/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Pontiac G6 Car Audio" border="0" height="239" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_zJkdBbNRAQ/UUFsHMKexlI/AAAAAAAAB4I/ChGBKAO-bFk/s320/photo+1.JPG" title="Pontiac G6 Car Audio" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What you may notice is the amp turn on wire, pinned in the GM13SR doesn't line up with the factory "Pink" amp turn on wire in pin location 6 of the factory harness. You will want to either repin the amp turn on wire in the GM13SR to line up with the factory amp turn on wire, or just jump the amp turn on wire form the GM13SR and splice directly into the "Pink" factory amp turn on wire. Hope this helps!</div>

This is a quick overview of an amp and sub install I did in a newer GMC Sierra (2009). The process should be the same, if not really similar for the newer Chevy Silverado. We kept the factory stereo intact, so we tapped into the factory sub for hi level.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7bz3PvlSpxs/UT68UpuzupI/AAAAAAAAB2A/OAsE2_0F1tY/s1600/IMG_0847.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install" border="0" height="157" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7bz3PvlSpxs/UT68UpuzupI/AAAAAAAAB2A/OAsE2_0F1tY/s320/IMG_0847.JPG" title="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HsZU-12Nfmc/UT68bywtVzI/AAAAAAAAB2I/6TDR6mlhoAo/s1600/GMC1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HsZU-12Nfmc/UT68bywtVzI/AAAAAAAAB2I/6TDR6mlhoAo/s320/GMC1.jpg" title="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A quick and easy way to run the main power wire: Near the battery, drop the power wire down and to the rear of the truck. Loom the wire and zip tie it away from any hot and or moving parts.<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-V9mpyWypOys/UT68mv7Q7cI/AAAAAAAAB2Q/ok-Z0oNJpEA/s1600/IMG_0866.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install" border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-V9mpyWypOys/UT68mv7Q7cI/AAAAAAAAB2Q/ok-Z0oNJpEA/s320/IMG_0866.jpg" title="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There should be a small plastic grommet on the front passenger side, near the door sill.<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1VkJnyKufao/UT68v6LoPbI/AAAAAAAAB2Y/--VV2OXC7SQ/s1600/IMG_0868.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1VkJnyKufao/UT68v6LoPbI/AAAAAAAAB2Y/--VV2OXC7SQ/s320/IMG_0868.jpg" title="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Under the plastic side covers, near the edge of the carpet you should be able to locate the grommet and drill a small hole to pull the main power wire through. You will want to make sure you seal the hole with silicone once the power wire is ran through.<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ootReHnMnJk/UT689oEOeMI/AAAAAAAAB20/tocEChytcgY/s1600/GMC2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install" border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ootReHnMnJk/UT689oEOeMI/AAAAAAAAB20/tocEChytcgY/s320/GMC2.jpg" title="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you remove the the cup holders from the center consol, you should be able to get to locate factory sub wiring. The cup holders should be able to be removed with a panel removal tool, and is normally held into place with retainer clips. There will be two pairs of wires, because the factory sub is a dual voice coil. The first voice coil wires: (+ D.Blue~White / - L. Green Black) the second voice coil: (+ D.Green / - L.Blue~Black). If the wiring is different and you can't determine the positive and negative of each voice coil, just tap into one voice coil for your hi level input.<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gd15OKF7Wt4/UT69BWOcJQI/AAAAAAAAB28/cFXzsXvRRbQ/s1600/IMG_0876.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install" border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gd15OKF7Wt4/UT69BWOcJQI/AAAAAAAAB28/cFXzsXvRRbQ/s320/IMG_0876.jpg" title="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
When I add an aftermarket amp/sub, like I did in this GMC Sierra I normally disconnect the factory sub.<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KMTdEhWywaA/UT69EeabpSI/AAAAAAAAB3U/xn-MsQSoCWs/s1600/IMG_0880.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KMTdEhWywaA/UT69EeabpSI/AAAAAAAAB3U/xn-MsQSoCWs/s320/IMG_0880.jpg" title="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One of the easiest places to grab your amp turn on wire in these trucks will be under the steering column. You will notice a black plastic A/C duct. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U3zWaKf-j0c/UT687XvhGYI/AAAAAAAAB2k/qhjawJdrHcU/s1600/GMC3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install" border="0" height="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U3zWaKf-j0c/UT687XvhGYI/AAAAAAAAB2k/qhjawJdrHcU/s320/GMC3.jpg" title="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
On the side, you will want to remove the plastic fastener holding the duct in place.<br />
Once the fastener is removed pull the plastic A/C duct out of the way. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WqK4o5VGuw8/UT6882_COPI/AAAAAAAAB2w/Fc3LKLE2Ri8/s1600/GMC4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install Switched Power" border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WqK4o5VGuw8/UT6882_COPI/AAAAAAAAB2w/Fc3LKLE2Ri8/s320/GMC4.jpg" title="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install Switched Power" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
On the left hand side you should see about six harnesses lined up running vertically. In the top green harness there should be a Brown wire, that should be your switched "Accessory" wire. You can use this wire to power on your amp. You should always test your wires with a digital muti-meter before connecting anything.<br />
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rEIQT6wFuyg/UT69DUej_II/AAAAAAAAB3E/Ln_sA5Y6KDs/s1600/GMC5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install Switched Power" border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rEIQT6wFuyg/UT69DUej_II/AAAAAAAAB3E/Ln_sA5Y6KDs/s320/GMC5.jpg" title="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install Switched Power" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once you tap into the "Accessory" wire , I recommend fusing the new amp turn on wire just incase it becomes shorted. I normally put a 1AMP fuse inline. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Qu_QrbMyZ-o/UT69ESSEW8I/AAAAAAAAB3Q/bsUR8peDGcU/s1600/GMC6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install Switched Power" border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Qu_QrbMyZ-o/UT69ESSEW8I/AAAAAAAAB3Q/bsUR8peDGcU/s320/GMC6.jpg" title="GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado Amp Sub Install Switched Power" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's pretty much it, all that's left is running your wires to the amp location, grounding the amp and wiring up your sub(s). Hope this helps.<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you're installing a new stereo or a remote start in a H2 Hummer, there is quite a bit of disassembly required. I actually did a remote start in this Hummer, but the process of disassembly is the same to get the stereo out. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WVtIpj2C8kk/UThD2K8eVII/AAAAAAAABwI/0cyfO8cd07Y/s1600/IMG_0660.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WVtIpj2C8kk/UThD2K8eVII/AAAAAAAABwI/0cyfO8cd07Y/s320/IMG_0660.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Qogy1mPen3s/UThD4IrGhiI/AAAAAAAABwY/d11VBZl6hVg/s1600/IMG_0661.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Qogy1mPen3s/UThD4IrGhiI/AAAAAAAABwY/d11VBZl6hVg/s320/IMG_0661.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-m5yJoslljHk/UThMVY0P9SI/AAAAAAAABwo/pJUL0AUHt3I/s1600/Hummer.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-m5yJoslljHk/UThMVY0P9SI/AAAAAAAABwo/pJUL0AUHt3I/s320/Hummer.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You will first need to put the vehicle into 1st gear and remove the T15 (torx) from the shifter. Allowing you to lift up and remove the shifter out of the way.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NR7bxIcTZz4/UThMVeVf9pI/AAAAAAAABws/UMKxXMIxsJg/s1600/Hummer1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NR7bxIcTZz4/UThMVeVf9pI/AAAAAAAABws/UMKxXMIxsJg/s320/Hummer1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
With your panel removal tool release the clips on the cut holder/shifter panel. There should be three clips holding the panel on. You may have to apply quite a bit of force to get those clips to come free. </div>
